Charmaine Broe-MacKenzie
EDIT 6150: The Page About Me
Summer 2005

I am a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a student, a volunteer. I play tennis, strive to jog 3 miles every other day, and occasionally (although half-heartedly) lift weights. I have had a long and varied career, and I have traveled to many states and countries. My intense interest in my children's education inspired me to volunteer twice weekly in their schools. It did not take long for me to migrate to the media center, where I connected to students in a more satisfying and profound way than I did in the classroom. For the past 5 years I have worked in two school media centers on a volunteer basis and as a substitute. I was in my daughter's middle school media center, Five Forks Middle School, when I learned about UGA's Flexible Delivery Program, and I immediately took the steps to apply for admission. I am now half-way through the two year Master's Program.

This is a recent photo of my family: my husband Tom, my daughter Jesse, and my son Joe. We are standing in front of our favorite swimming hole, which can only be reached by a long dirt road and a 1/2 mile hike in the Chauga River area of South Carolina.

These are the family cats, Kiwi on the left and Yoda on the right. They are Tonkinese litter mates. I was inspired to include their pictures by my Instructional Design Professor, Dr. Janette Hill.
